CAN I LAYER IT WITH OTHER INGREDIENTS?        

Yes! You can safely use it with all other ingredients during your AM routine. 

HOW DO I LAYER THIS UNDER MAKE UP?  

We recommend to wait 2-3 minutes before applying makeup. This will give the SPF a chance to fully absorb and settle without leaving any white residue. 

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I USE SUNSCREEN?

Every day! It should be as second nature as brushing your teeth. Using SPF daily is the not only the best way to help reduce the effects of premature ageing but also an important measure to help protect against health risks posed by sun exposure.

DO I NEED TO WEAR SUNSCREEN? 

Sun damage can quickly undo the hard work you’ve put into your skincare routine i.e. when using Retinol, if you are not following up with SPF, it makes retinol use more dangerous than beneficial. Another example, those that are using products that target pigmentation without sun protection – you will not see the full potential of benefits as the sun damage will hinder any results. 

WHY DO I NEED TO REAPPLY SUNSCREEN? 

Most people under apply sunscreen as you need more than you think and people commonly skip a few areas such as neck, eye area, ears – which is why reapplication is recommended because it compensates the initial inadequate amount. Sunscreen also comes off during the day with sweat, when you touch your face, when clothing is rubbed – which is why reapplying is needed

Yes! Our products are for everyone, regardless of your race, gender, age.  

IS IT PHYSICAL OR CHEMICAL SUNSCREEN?        

This is a 100% Mineral sunscreen 

WHAT IS A MINERAL SUNSCREEN?

There are only two ingredients that are classified as mineral sunscreens, Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide. Zinc Oxide provides broad spectrum protection. 

WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE A MINERAL SUNSCREEN?

It comes down to personal choice. Non-mineral sunscreens are often considered more pleasing texturally however they are sometimes not suitable for all skin types and can cause reactions. Zinc Oxide sunscreens are non-irritating make them suitable for all skin types including sensitive. It is also non-comedogenic and a beneficial ingredient for acne and blemish prone skin.  Non-nano Zinc Oxide SPF’s are also reef safe

HOW DOES MINERAL SUNSCREEN WORK?

Zinc Oxide works by both absorbing UV and blocking and refracting UV at different points of the spectrum

WILL THIS PRODUCT LEAVE A WHITE CAST?

Zinc Oxide is a white mineral and there is potential for the product to leave a white residue on the skin, across all skin tones however this may appear more pronounced on darker skin tones. We have taken measures to reduce this and enhance usability by using the least whitening grade of Zinc Oxide and adding a low level non-cosmetic tint to help balance this. This is not to colour match skin tone, but to offset the Zinc and aid blending into the skin.

HOW CAN I AVOID WHITE CAST?

A great application tip to avoid any white cast would be applying this SPF in few thin layers and waiting in between each one until the product is sunk in and no longer visible. This way it will not leave a white cast and the application will be thin and smooth. 

WHAT ARE THE KEY PROPERTIES OF THIS SPF?

It is free from silicone & essential oils. We are proud to say that it's reef safe, cruelty free and vegan friendly.

WHY ISN'T IT OIL FREE?

It contains a small percentage of sunflower oil.

WHAT'S THE % OF ZINC?           

Our SPF30 consists of 22% Zinc.

WHAT IS THE NANO-PARTICLE SIZE?           

The ZnO dispersion we use doesn’t have a set particle size, but a distribution between 100-1000nm in the shape of a bell curve. However, the average particle size is 350nm.

WHAT IS THE UVA PROTECTION FACTOR?

The UVA protection factor is 15.85

WHAT IS THE UVA/UVB PERCENTAGE RATIO?

The UVA/UVB percentage ratio is 51.13%
