It's a chemical exfoliant like it's cousins: AHAs and BHAs, but it's much more tolerable for those with sensitive skin and just as effective. PHA or Polyhdryoxy Acid have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, along with it's mild micro-peeling effect so it works well with Skin 1004's popular Centella Asiatica. Chemical exfoliants are a must especially if you have rough skin or hyperpigmentation, but not everyone can handle them. That's why we love Skin 1004s PHA toner because it works for those with the most sensitive of skin; double it with Centella Asiatica and it's our favorite everyday use toner.
